Our first birdwatching excursion to Shinias National Park

All 8 participants of our half-day excursion had a great time birding together. Lots of Marsh Harriers, Buzzards and Kestrels, but no duck has yet arrived. The weather seems to be still warm for birds, since, even in the middle of November, we saw 2 Swallows diving on the surface of a pond trying to catch insects, as well as a female Red-backed Shrike.

The complete bird list from Sarturday November 12th 2005, is the following

Little Grebe, Garganey, Marsh Harrier, Buzzard, Kestrel, Moorhen, Coot, Yellow-legged Gull, Swallow, Crested Lark, Pied Wagtail, Robin, Black Redstart, Stonechat, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Cetti's Warbler, Sardinian Warbler, Chiffchaff, Red-backed Shrike, Starling, Passer domesticus, Magpie, Hooded Crow, Chaffinch, Siskin
