Lycabettus Hill (Athens)

The Short-toed Treecreeper is a very common and widespread bird, nevertheless it is often overlooked due to its very nature; As the name implies, it creeps on tree trunks, looking for small insects, and only its call reveals its position. This one was photographed in Lycabettus Hill, in the center of Athens. Its high-altitude relative, the Treecreeper is very local in Greece, found only in few mountains and massifs.
