The 2nd Athens Bird race had a great success. A total of 41 participants forming 11 individual teams, visited 26 locations/biotopes. The most important records (for the Prefecture of Attika or for the season recorded) were White Stork, Pallid Harrier, Curlew Sandpiper, Rock Bunting, and the rarest species a Jack Snipe, seen in Oropos Marshes.
Pictures and more details about the race, soon to be post in the blog. The two pics below are from previous trips around Athens, showing Curlew Sandpiper & Jack Snipe, both from Rafina's stream, at the port of Rafina.
Also, the 2nd Salonica bird race is soon to be announced!
