Parnitha Mt, Athens

23 members of the Hellenic Ornithological Society decided to participate in a bird count around Mt Parnitha, a major National Park, which was recently hit by a devastating fire a few weeks ago. The scenery is definately heartbreaking, however, the following sightings are giving us some hope for the future.
Honey Buzzard, Short-toed Eagle, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Peregrine Falcon, Turtle Dove, Common Swift, Pallid Swift, Hoopoe, House Martin, Red-rumped Swallow, Barn Swallow, Robin, Black Redstart, Blackbird, Sardinian Warbler, Chiffchaff, Sombre Tit, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Nuthatch, Jay, Magpie, Hooded Crow, Chaffinch, Serin, Greenfinch, Cirl Bunting
