Messolongi Lagoon

During the last few years, several immature Dalmatian Pelicans, possibly coming from the Amvrakikos Gulf colonies, have become "resident" in Messolongi, spending the whole year in this fish-rich lagoon. When they become adults, it will be very interesting to see if they will create a new breeding colony (as long as there is suitable nesting habitat)! In the picture we see a part of the group of 19 birds seen on September, 20th 2007, along with Cormorants and Black-headed Gulls.
