One day at Mesologi

Last sunday I met with several other birders at the salt marshes of Mesologi, where they were doing the mid-winter waterfowl count. We were allowed to go inside the area of the salt factory, whre we saw among other species several Avocets, Spoonbills and Dalmation Pelicanes, while far over the Mountains four Griffon Vultures were flying. In the surrounding areas we saw huge flocks of Flamingos, Avocets, Lapwings, Dunlins, and Kentish Plovers, as well as Black-necked Grebes, Grey Plovers, Common Snipes, Caspian Terns, and Sandwich Terns.
