Autumn birdwatching in Schinias

Yesterday afternoon I guided a group of 20 American and Canadian birders, all in a nature trip with Vent Tours at Schinias National Park. They were accompanied by Victor Emanuel, a top US birder, with excellent skills and experience of guiding trips all over the world.
The group was lucky enough to see a lot of birds, during the hottest time of the day (afternoon), in a period were almost the whole area was dry. Despite these difficulties, we managed to do some great birding, for only two hours, in 2-3 spots of the National Park, and get species such as
Ferruginous Duck, Purple Heron, Short-toed Eagle, Red-rumped Swallow, Pallid Swift, Black-headed Wagtail, Red-backed Shrike, Lesser Grey Shrike

For myself, it was indeed a great experience to birdwatch with such experienced birders.

I will post some pics from the trip by the end of the week.
