Birdwatching in Athens: Red-breasted Flycatcher parade

The Red-breasted Flycatcher is one of the least common passage migrants seen in Greece. Fortunately, Athens is on its pathway and the Aesthetic Forest of Kaisariani at Mt Hymettus is probably the best place to look for it during autumn migration and especially in September. This year was particularly fruitful, as many birds could be seen around the monastery!

The white tail feathers are one of its most marked features 

The Red-breasted Flycatcher rarely exposes itself to open areas

It is pretty hard to get  good "clean" close view of the bird...
