Birdwatching in Athens: Crake Parade!

March is on the way, but the first migrant crakes have already appeared!

Vravrona Wetland has become one of the best sites to look for crakes, especially the Little Crake. The flooded bank of Erasinos river provides an ideal foraging ground and with a little patient one can really enjoy them!

The Spotted Crake is another regular, though not so common, visitor of Vravrona. The largest of the crakes, the Spotted is a very beautiful bird, especially when seen from a close distance!
